Spektra

Interactive Installation

Adrian Chiu | Agnes Yuen | Gloria Zhou | Pamela Lin

SPEKTRA is an interactive installation for the inaugural Expo for Design, Innovation, & Technology (EDIT) hosted by Canada’s leading design museum,
the Design Exchange, at the former Unilever soap factory.

The intent is that exhibit visitors become more perceptive of their surroundings through a dark, intimate, interactive experience. As more people enter the space, their movement increasingly distorts and disturbs the projected image. As less movement is detected, the projection reflects the decrease in disruption until it returns to its initial barren stillness. Incorporating Lumo Play projection, attendants are encouraged to approach and interact with the projected visual. The visual projections are designed by Ryerson’s V4 Lab 2017 workshop
participants.
